Neonatal early onset infectionThe goal is to decrease initiation, duration and intravenous antibiotic use. Several PhD projects, including
-Guideline improvement of early onset neonatal infections.
-Facilitators and barriers for implementation in pediatric care.
-Improvement of the EOS calculator.
-Parental consent and participation in studies and parents’ and nurses’ perspectives on kinder and safer antibiotic treatment.
Critical illness and severe infectious disease in Surinamese childrenThe goal is to decrease the burden of infectious diseases.
Mild traumatic brain injury. The goal is to evaluate the current national guideline regarding CT scan use and duration of observation and managemnt of CT abnormalities. The goal is to avoid double diagnostic investigations at the emergency department.
Astma beyond the acute phase. To conduct a RCT to compare a nurse led CAS O2 score compared to lung auscultation during salbutamol weaning.
